Christians have been reminded that the joy of Christmas is that Jesus Christ was born to reconcile men back to God. Rev. Ejibe Eme who stated this in a homily at the carol of nine lessons of the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike held in Senator Pius Anyim Auditorium noted that one's relationship with Jesus Christ will determine whether one rises or falls as only those who identified with Him in the bible days became world changers.
Preaching on the topic: THE MYSTERY OF JESUS: THE CHILD THAT WAS BORN, Rev. Eme of the Ejibe Eme Evangelist Outreach added that grace through the birth of Christ has made it impossible for believers to remain in the bondage of darkness.
In his christmas and new year message, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Francis Ogbonnaya Otunta urged members of the university community and christians at large to always in the spirit of celebration of Christmas, which is the birth of Christ, remember that he is coming back again to judge the living and the dead. He noted that the consciousness of His coming should make christians as members of the orchestra to watch their conductor to avoid making mistakes. He prayed God to guide and protect all members of staff and their families into the new year- 2017.
The carol of nine lessons featured scriptural readings, praise and worship and special christmas renditions by different choirs
