ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR THE 2022/2023 B.Sc. PART-TIME PROGRAMMES

1. Agricultural Economics, Rural Sociology and Extension, Agronomy, Soil Science and Meteorology, Five O’ level Credit passes in not more than two sittings to include English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology/ Agric. Science and any other Science subject A credit in Agric. Science must be backed up with at least a pass in Biology
2. Agribusiness and  Management Five O’ level Credit passes in not more than two sittings to include English Language,

Mathematics, Econs, and any two from Biology or Agric Science, Agronomy, govt, Science, Govt, C.R.K, Geography.
3. Computer Science Five O’ level credit passes in not more than two sittings to include English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and any other relevant science subject
4. Education courses

Chemistry Education,

Physics Education,

Mathematics Education,

 Five O’ level credit passes in not more than two sittings to include English Language, Mathematics, Biology or Agricultural Science, Chemistry and any other relevant subject A credit in Agric. Science must be backed up with at least a pass in Biology

6. Integrated Science Education Five O’level credit passes in not more than two sittings to include English Language, Biology, Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics
7. Agricultural Science Education Five O’level credit passes in not more than two sittings to include English Language, Mathematics, Agricultural Science, Chemistry and any relevant Science subject
8. Computer Science Education Five O’ level credit passes in not more than two sittings to include English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and any other relevant subject
9. Home Economics Education Five O’level credit passes in not more than two sittings to include English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science and any of Physics, Clothing & Textile, Food and Nutrition, Home Management A credit in Agric. Science must be backed up with at least a pass in Biology
10. Entrepreneurial Studies Five O’level Credits Passes in not more than two sittings to include English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any other two Subjects.
11. Industrial Relations and Personnel Management Five O’level Credits Passes in not more than two sittings to include English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any two Subjects from Government/History, Commerce, Principles of Accounting, Geography, C.R.K., A gric. Science, Biology, Literature English, Igbo, Housa, Yoruba
12. Library and Information Science Five O’level Credits Passes in not more than two sittings to include English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any other two Subjects.

DIRECT ENTRY ADMISSION

Direct entry admission into the above listed programmes is based on a combination of relevant O’Level results and the possession of at least two A-Level passes, or NCE, OND OR HND in the following areas of study: Agricultural Science, Science Education, Geography, Forestry, Fisheries, Building Technology, Environmental Health, Surveying, Architecture, Estate Management, Quantity Surveying, Urban and Regional Planning, etc.

 

 

DURATION OF PROGRAMMES

  1. Duration of programmes in (1), above.
  2. A minimum of six (6) years for candidates with
  • Ordinary Level Certificate
  • OND/ND at Lower Credit level
  • NCE at Merit/Credit levels

 

  1. A minimum of five (5) years for candidates with
  • OND/ND at Upper Credit level
  • NCE at Distinction level
  • HND at Lower Credit Level
  • A minimum of four (4) years for candidates with HND at Upper Credit level.

 

  1. Duration of programmes in items 2-11 above.
  2. A minimum of five (5) years for candidates with O’Level qualifications.
  3. A minimum of four (4) years for candidates with OND at Upper Credit Level and HND, at Lower Credit in relevant areas, obtained from recognized institutions.
  • A minimum of three (3) years for candidates with HND at Upper Credit Level, and B.Sc. in related areas.

METHOD OF APPLICATION

Application forms can be obtained from room 6 (B.Sc. Unit) CEC Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, on payment of non-refundable fee of Five Thousand Naira (N5,000) through remitter into the TSA account after generation of RRR. Candidates should bring their evidence of payment to the CEC office for issuance of receipt and collection of application forms.

 

CLOSING DATE

Closing date for receipt of completed application forms for the 2021/2022 academic Session is six weeks from the date of this publication.
