OBJECTIVES: To contribute to the dissemination of scientific knowledge through research, teaching, and skills transfer for direct application in ways that will impact community life.

CURRENT RESEARCH FOCUS

  • Chemo-preventive effects of dietary vegetables and indigenous medicinal plants and their constituents
  • Establishing the molecular basis for the protective roles of dietary vegetables and medicinal plants against non-communicable diseases such as cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, obesity, cancer and other degenerative diseases.
  • Plant biotechnological modification to enhance the above potentials.
