Chukwuma Okereke Ofor holds a B.Sc. (Zoology) from the University of Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria; and a Ph.D. (Aquaculture) from University of Calabar, Cross River State, Nigeria. He is presently a Professor of Aquaculture Production Management in the Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources management. He is interested in problem-oriented research within the scope of his specialization. His current research efforts are directed towards the elucidation of the black boxes currently bedeviling aquaculture production in Nigeria, the improvement of current production processes, and the interactions between aquaculture production and the environment. He is married with children.

Conducted research in: early-stage development of Heterobranchus longifilis; catch, catch rates and population dynamics of Nematopalaemon hastatus; application of the Schaefer (surplus production) model in Oreochromis niloticus culture; production economics of H. longifilis and Clarias gariepinus; issues on waste valorization in aquaculture; and effect of environmental stressors on early-stage development.
