MOUAU CEC HOLDS 2021 ORIENTATION EXERCISE, FRESHMEN URGED TO TAKE STUDIES SERIOUSLY

Newly admitted students of the Continuing Education Centre (CEC), of the University, have been advised to prioritize their studies and keep to the rules and regulations of the University.

The Director of CEC, Prof. Victor Osodeke, who was represented by the Deputy Director, Dr J.C Nnaji, gave the advice, on Saturday, during the Centre’s 2021 Orientation Programme aimed at sensitizing her newly admitted students.

In his remarks, the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Maduebibisi Ofo Iwe, represented by the DVC (Academic), Prof. Udo Herbert, welcomed the new students and congratulated them for successfully gaining admission into the University. The VC expressed hopes that the freshmen would live up to expectations.

In her address, the Registrar, Mrs Jacinta Ogwo-Agu gave a breakdown of admission and documentation processes required of the new intakes. She advised the students to ensure their requirements are submitted in due time. Mrs Ogwo-Agu further urged the newly admitted students to remain focused and not forget their purpose of enrolling in the University.

On his part, the Dean of Students Affairs, Prof. Mark Ogbuagu urged the freshmen to shun cultism, sexual harassment, bullying and indecent dressing on campus, stressing that such vices contradict the norms and values of the University.

The orientation programme attracted the principal officers, Heads of Departments, as well as other senior staff of the University.
