In his address during a visit to the Vice-Chancellor of the University, on Thursday, the Head, the Project Management Division of PTDF, Mr. Kelechi Idimogu disclosed that the project is coming after the NEEDS Assessment exercise carried out in the University by the organization last year.
Mr. Idimogu disclosed that the project was in line with the objectives of PTDF to develop research activities and competencies. He expressed optimism that the project would be completed effectively in one year.
Speaking at the visit, the Project Manager, Arch. Chioma Amaechi expressed excitement at the warm reception accorded to her team by the University. She promised to make good the University’s generosity by delivering the project as expected.
Responding, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Maduebibisi Ofo Iwe who was represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Udo Herbert thanked PTDF for her support. The VC assured the University’s benefactor that the project would be utilized optimally for the development of the Department of Environmental Management and Toxicology students.
In his address, the Dean, of the College of Natural Resources and Environmental Management, Prof. Anthony Nlewadim, expressed joy that the project is coming to reality. He thanked PTDF for her support, assuring that the department’s students would benefit immensely from the project which he said would enhance teaching and research.
The project scope of the PTDF intervention also involves the provision of workshop/laboratory equipment, IT/Library facilities, as well as ancillary facilities.
